In session, she utilizes many different mind-body approaches that include strategies and techniques form Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including CBT play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, parent training, solution focused tools, motivational interviewing skills, and mindfulness-based interventions.  She also enjoys sharing interesting tools such as apps or podcasts for clients to use outside of session to supplement the work in sessions.

“My experience with Dr. Dawn Chandler-Holtz was very favorable. I came to her as an adult seeking an autism assessment, and she made the process comfortable, respectful, and engaging.

Adult autism diagnosis can be difficult to access, especially for those who were missed or misunderstood earlier in life. Dr. Dawn provided a thorough and well-documented evaluation. When I have shared my diagnostic documentation with others, the common response has been how complete and well-prepared it is.

Although the cost was not covered by insurance, I believe it was well worth the expense. The diagnosis helped me better understand myself and gave me clear, credible documentation when I needed to share it.
